Middle School/High School Solo and Ensemble Festival

  • Saturday, January 30, 2027 (8AM - 5PM)

  • Hosts: Ann Arbor Pioneer High School, Steven Lorenz

  • Registration opens October 1, 2026

  • Application/postmark deadline: Friday, December 18, 2026.

  • Fees: $25 Solo             $35 Small Ensemble (2-6)             $50 Large Ensemble (7-20)
  • The above fees are due on or before Friday, December 18, 2026. Late entries will be accepted for one week following the registration deadline (December 19-26) along with an additional late fee of $20 per event. Credit card only for late entries. 
  • If your registration and fees are not received by December 26, your groups will be removed from the festival schedule. Absolutely no registrations after December 26, 2026.


      Middle School Choral Festival

      • March 4 & 5, 2027 (8AM - 5PM both days)

      • Host: Dexter High School, Julie Bassett

      • Registration opens October 1, 2026

      • Registration/Application/Postmark deadline: February 1, 2027

      • Fee: $140 per choir on or before February 1, 2027 / $190 per choir from February 2-9, 2027. Credit card only for late entries.

      • If your registration and fees are not received by February 9, 2027, your groups will be removed from the festival schedule. Absolutely no registrations after February 9, 2027.

      High School Choral Festival

      • March 11 & 12, 2027 (8AM - 5PM both days)

      • Host: Ypsilanti Lincoln High School, Toni Micik

      • Registration opens October 1, 2026

      • Registration/Application/Postmark deadline: February 1, 2027

      • Fee: $140 per choir on or before February 1, 2027 / $190 per choir from February 2-9, 2027. Credit card only for late entries.

      • If your registration and fees are not received by February 9, 2027, your groups will be removed from the festival schedule. Absolutely no registrations after February 9, 2027.


      District Solo & Ensemble Festival and Choral Festival medals will be available for purchase for $5 at the Festivals for students who receive final determinations of Excellent (I) or Good (II).


      Festival Fees

      Payment can be made by school check or director’s personal check payable to MSVMA and must be postmarked by the deadline. Fees also can be paid via credit card. Purchase orders are acceptable at the postmark deadline. The State Office must receive payment one week prior to the festival. Fees are non-refundable. Returned checks are subject to a $25 fee. Registration for an event constitutes a commitment to participate in the event. Members may not register for additional events until all past-due invoices have been paid.
