Our Chamber Festivals are designed to encourage ensemble singing and sharing of ensemble literature. These non-adjudicated events provide a concert arena for performance by MSVMA membership middle, junior and high schools. Participating ensembles share and learn together and from each other.
There is no required piece for Chamber Choir participation. Please select music which would be appropriate for solo and ensemble festival. Participants are encouraged to sing at least one selection a cappella. Performance should be no longer than 15 minutes.
The number of participants in each group should reflect the character and style of ensemble music. The recommended guideline is between 4 and a maximum of 24 performers. Schools may send a maximum of two groups.
All ensembles performing in Chamber Choir Festivals must be seated in the concert hall for the duration of the Festival. This is an educational experience for all participants. Ensembles that do not attend the Festival as listeners are subject to sanctions from Festivals by the MSVMA Board.
Registration & Payment
Fees are $15 for groups of 4 to 12 singers and $25 for groups of 13 to 24 singers.
Payment can be made by school check or director’s personal check payable to MSVMA and must be postmarked by the deadline. Purchase orders are acceptable at the postmark deadline, but the State Office must receive payment one week prior to the festival.
